Six short stories give snapshots of the lives of six young African-American men from rural, 1936 North Carolina and the impact that their father has on them. Abraham's love for his sons is strong, he'll go to battle for them without hesitation. But, he'll also do battle with them when their own failings threaten their self-interests. Through racism, heartache, self-destruction, deception and joy, these sons will each learn a lesson about life, as their father does his best to guide them.
