Book Condition Guide
When buying or selling used books, understanding their condition is key to ensuring transparency and setting the right expectations. Below is our classification system to help you assess a book’s quality before making a purchase or listing it for sale.
🆕📚 New – A brand-new book, sold directly by the publisher, never read or handled. The cover, spine, and pages are in pristine condition.
✨📚 Like New – The book appears almost untouched. The cover is intact with no scratches, creases, or signs of wear. The spine remains unbroken, and the pages are crisp, clean, and free of any markings.
👍📘 Very Good – The book has been read but remains in excellent condition. The cover and spine may show minimal signs of use, but the pages are intact with no writing, highlighting, or major wear.
📚🔖 Good – A well-maintained book with some signs of use. The cover and pages may show slight wear, and there may be limited notes or highlights, but the text remains fully readable.
📖✍️ Acceptable – The book has visible signs of wear and tear. Pages may have creases, small tears, or discoloration, but no pages are missing, and the text is still entirely legible.
📚⚠️ Heavily Used – The book has significant damage. Some pages may be missing, torn, or stained, and parts of the text may be difficult to read due to wear or markings.
